Rafting in trishuli river of nepal

Rafting in Nepal is undoubtedly the best way to explore spectacular Himalayan Rivers, mountain scenery and a rich cultural heritage of rural Nepal. No other country has such a choice of trips on wild rivers, sub tropical climate and huge white sand beaches, ideal for camping. Mountain scenery that has drawn thousands of trekkers and climbers for many years, also feeds some of the most challenging and beautiful rivers, making Nepal an obvious river runner’s destination. If you have never been on a river journey in Nepal before, you’re in for an amazing experience. There is no better way to see Nepal than on a river trip, which by its very nature is the essence of escapism. Be warned, once you start on this journey, it may be hard to quit.

Rivers are graded for difficulty on an international scale from class 1 to 6, with class 1 defined as easy flowing water with few obstacles, and class 6 being considered nearly impossible to negotiate and a hazard to life. A reasonably fit person who is not afraid of water can safely go rafting on rivers with grading from class 1 to 3. For the more difficult and exciting class 4 to 5 rivers, people should be extremely confident in water and preferably have prior rafting experience.

When selecting your rafting trip, you should know what to expect from it. River journeys range from a short 2 day paddle to 12 days expeditions. Each one is incredibly unique in its own way and offers an enjoyable experience, regardless of the length of the river trip.

All our river journeys are per-planned and thought out. Our operation employ only the most experienced guides and state-of-the-art equipment as the safety of the client is our top priority. We take pride in our guides who are well trained in Whitewater rescue techniques, CPR and Wilderness first aid. All our river expeditions are accompanied by safety Kayakers with international experience.

Day 02
We leave Kathmandu at about 0700 Hours and drive approximately 3 hrs. to Charaundi, our put-in point. After the crew assembles the raft, they will explain the safety equipment and proper procedures.
During the day, we run a numbers of rapids, that rate to 2 to 3. All the rapids have been given Nepali and English names: our guide can relate the story behind each one.
We lunch on a beach remarkable for its unique sculptured boulders. Shortly after lunch we enter the Trishuli gorge. As the canyon narrows the walls becomes steep, densely, forested, the current accelerates and the rapids increase in the size and frequency. This is the time to hang on. (A, B, L, D)
After such a stimulating experience, it is humbling to see a Majhi (Fisherman) building his precarious traps in such turbulence. Our last rapid, Jholungepul, is named for an extensive suspension bridge. Here we often encounter an enthusiastic audience, they line the bridge excited to see us pass beneath. The geologic formation are tremendously interesting and not worthy. We camp at Kurintar on a sandy beach on the Trishuli beach. Every one is welcome to help our crew with camp chores. Once the tents are pitched a savory dinner will be prepare over stoves. (A, L, D)
